Why is cheese often poorly rated on Yuka ? 🧀

Cheese is naturally rich in saturated fat and sodium. Currently, the rating of a food product is 60% based on its nutritional value.

The calculation method is based on the Nutri-Score system. It penalizes high levels of saturated fat and sodium. This explains why the majority of cheese does not receive a high rating in the application.

The idea is not to ban these products, but by realizing that a product is poor or bad, to adapt the quantity consumed.

⚠️ The fabrication method (handmade or industrial) is not taken into account in the rating system, nor are the various labels.
