Yuka aims to help you make better choices for your health and the planet by raising awareness about the composition of food and cosmetic products. However, Yuka has certain limitations you should be aware of when using the app.

  • Yuka strives to provide the most reliable data possible but cannot guarantee absolute accuracy. The data presented in the app depends on the information available on product packaging, which is added to Yuka's database by contributors or manufacturers. Despite Yuka's verification processes, there may be composition or detection errors, particularly if a product's composition changes and has not been updated.
  • Yuka only provides opinions on the potential risks associated with ingredients and additives in products and does not claim any scientific authority. Yuka analyzes scientific studies and regulations and applies the precautionary principle, which may lead to alerts about the presence of certain ingredients and additives, even if the associated risks remain under suspicion.
  • Yuka does not provide medical advice and in no way replaces the guidance of a professional. For any health-related questions or specific needs, it is essential to consult a doctor or another healthcare professional.
  • Yuka does not replace the information on product packaging. To avoid any risks, particularly in cases of allergies or dietary restrictions, always refer to the information on the product label, even if you use the “Dietary Preferences” feature (available in the Premium version of the app).
  • Yuka does not evaluate the effectiveness of products but provides an initial analysis of their composition and potential risks to health and/or the environment. However, fields such as nutrition, cosmetics, and environmental analysis are complex and depend on many factors.

By using Yuka, you accept these limitations and acknowledge that the app is a tool to be used thoughtfully for your personal decisions. For more information, please refer to Yuka’s Terms and Conditions.
